Funky band outta Evanston, Illinois that Fred Rector brought to Glades after rocking the crowd for a big show at the Watts Festival in L.A.
Fred told them they would be bigger than KC and The Sunshine Band, Timmy Thomas, and T-Connection.
They got stars in their eyes, signed a record deal, and came on down to Hialeah and slapped this funk on tape. They also spent time in the studio cutting tracks with Timmy Thomas on the keyboard and Robert Johnson from KC and The Sunshine Band on drums.
It’s all in this video found on youtube, that was made by an associate of the band.
The Urban Crisis – “Spread Love Around” b/w “Sugar Man” is a collectors item that sells for up to $40.
This has been another classic tale of funk.
